Ann O. Leach (nee Kohut), 73, passed away unexpectedly on July 18, 2025. Throughout her life, she was affectionately known as mom, wife, sister, baba, AOL, Ukrainian princess, and angled by Ann.
Ann was born April 8, 1952 in Akron, Ohio. She had many experiences throughout her life that shaped who she was as a person- a powerful force of a woman. She was opinionated, empathetic, strong willed, and met every challenge head on. Ann loved fierce and touched the hearts of many. Those close to her knew of her love of concerts, dancing, and listening to music. She enjoyed going for walks in the park, spending time with family, and shopping on Saturdays only to return items the following week.
Professionally, Ann was a successful business owner until 1996 when she later transitioned to state service. Ann began her second career at the Ohio Department of Agriculture where she rose in ranks as the first female supervisor for meat inspection in the state of Ohio where she later retired in 2017.
She is survived by her husband John, daughters Melissa(Joseph) Montisano, Ally (Mike) Herkner, Mandi ( Anyelo) Zamora, Amy Chang, son Jason (Jenn), grandchildren (Lily, Mason, Michael, Madison), sister Mary (Bill) Hancock, nieces, nephews, and grand puppies.
