Ann Bezbatchenko, 98 passed away quietly on Wednesday January 20, 2021 at Mulberry Gardens in Munroe Falls.
Ann was born in Akron, Ohio in her parents' home on 6th Ave in east Akron on December 18, 1922 to the late William and Theodosia (Kucha) Bezbatchenko. She had three brothers; the late John, Michael and William Bezbatchenko.
Ann had a long career at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. In the international division. She was very proud to have worked at Goodyear and shared many fond memories of her time working there. She retired in the mid-1980s.
Ann loved to travel and enjoyed telling stories of those trips. Some of her favorites included Cuba, Egypt, France, Ireland and Russia (the USSR at the time). She also traveled much of the United States by car with her friends and family.
She loved oil painting and to work with ceramics. Many family members and friends have some of her work.
Ann was meticulous and detailed with everything she did. It was the key to her success and long life.
Ann was a lifelong member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Mogadore, Ohio. She loved the church. Most recently with limited access to church she would sit back, close her eyes and listen to a recorded service. The church provided her calm and serenity.
The other love of her life was her family. She often spoke of her nephews and their families. She loved the large family gatherings and cherished those times.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
Ann is survived by her sister-in-law Mary (Michael) Bezbatchenko; nephews Dr. Michael (Ellen) Bezbatchenko, Dr. Mark (Paula) Bezbatchenko, Paul (Linda) Bezbatchenko, Martin (Barb) Bezbatchenko, Matthew (Kathy) Bezbatchenko, James (Siobhan) Bezbatchenko and Frank Bezbatchenko; many grand and great grandnieces and nephews; and, family members Martin and Rosemary Vronick, Steve and Mia Rohweder, Kyra Grathwohl and their children.
She will be missed by all her family.
Calling hours and the funeral service will be held that St. Nicholas Orthodox Church 755 S. Cleveland Ave. Mogadore, Ohio. Calling hours will be 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Tuesday January 25, 2021. The Funeral service will follow calling hours at 6:00 PM.
A Panikhida service will be held the following day Wednesday January 26, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the church. This will be followed by internment at the St. Nicholas Cemetery 1599 Krumroy Rd. Akron, Ohio.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations in the memory of Ann Bezbatchenko be sent to St. Nicholas Church general fund or the cemetery maintenance fund.
