Angelo Marko Lambo

April 22, 1922 — November 14, 2022

Announcing the falling asleep of Angelo Marko Lambo at the age of 100 years who is now in the Heavenly Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ where he joins his lifelong pals Hank Karwas and Stan Pyciak.

First generation born in the United States of America on 04/22/22, at the house of his parents Marko and Temiana Lambo (of Armensko, Macedonia) in Jackson Michigan. Baptized at Holy Ascension Orthodox Church in Albion, Michigan. At the age of 3, he was revived from drowning in the Grand River, Jackson, Michigan by an unknown man who just happened to be swimming by. Growing up he was active in three sports (Football, Basketball and Track) which he participated in up through high school. Received a basketball scholarship to play at Albion College where he later transferred to Tri-State in Indiana. Then WWII broke out and he enlisted. The Military trained him to be an "Air Traffic Control Tower Operator". And many stories were told of that experience. He received an "Honorable Discharge" from the military at the end of WWII. From that point he went on into business as an owner with his father. From the Central Bar to Lambo's Car Wash, they provided for their families. While working the day shift at Central Bar he obtained a degree from Jackson Business School. He employed trustees from Jackson State Prison at the car wash and gave them a leg up at the time of their release by providing a healthy purse based on the difference of prison vs minimum wage rates. He was one of the founding Fathers of St Demetrius Orthodox Church in Jackson Michigan. He had an amazing ability to see the inside of politicians and understand what they really stood for. This gift will be sorely missed.

At the age of 24 he married Florence Petroff from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They lived in Jackson, Michigan and raised four children. Selling the car wash around 1991 he had reached the age of retirement. Then in 1992 he and his wife moved to Akron, Ohio, to be close to the grandchildren where he lived out the rest of his life.

Preceding him in falling asleep are Risto and Kira Lambo (grandparents), Marko and Temiana Lambo (parents), and Sophia Branoff (sister). Survived by his wife of 76 years of marriage Florence Petroff Lambo, his four children Don Lambo and wife Andera Migdal, Michele Lambo, Marc Lambo and Annette Lambo. Grandchildren Krista (husband Derek), Kyra (husband Frankie) and Katya (husband Jay) and four great-grandchildren (Luka, Milo, Zora, and Mila Sofia).

The family will receive friends on Friday, Nov. 18, from 5-7 pm at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 755 S. Cleveland Ave., Mogadore, Ohio 44260, where the funeral service will follow at 7 pm. A Panikhida will take place on Saturday, Nov 19, at 10 am at the church, where Angelo will again lie in state for one hour prior. Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery.
