Andrew Coleman Phelps

Andrew C. Phelps, 67, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021.

Andy was born in Akron to the late Donald & Mary Phelps and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Green High School in 1972 and joined the US Navy, serving in Vietnam. Andy married Diane Rakich in 1980, and together raised their son Chad. He was a member of St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church.

In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his siblings Marshall, Sandi, and Ronnie. He is survived by his loving wife Diane; son Chad (Melissa); siblings Myelicia and Donald (Kathy) Phelps; brothers-in-law Richard Reed and Terry (Mary) Rakich; many nieces and nephews; lifelong friend Wayne Hurst; and beloved toy poodles, Timmy & Trixie.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 on Friday, October 29 at the Anthony Funeral Homes, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S Main St, Akron OH 44301. Funeral services will be held 11AM Saturday at the funeral home. Interment at Lakewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family, care of Anthony Funeral Homes to help with final expenses.
