Andrew Bernard Kmetz

Andrew B. Kmetz, 87, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018, after a brief illness.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents Andrew & Anna and his sister and brother-in-law Helen and Joe Lamarr.  He is survived by his Aunt Anna Kmetz; cousins Carol Leigh & Rita Labbe; and other loving family and friends.
Andy was born in Akron and lived in the Kent area most of his life.  He served in the U.S. Army in the 50s and was a life-long Catholic. Andy was a beloved art teacher for the Aurora Public Schools, where he taught from 1968-1985. Teaching defined his life-he loved his students and loved being a teacher.
The family would like to thank University Hospital and Hospice Care in Portage County and also the Stow-Glen Nursing Home for the excellent care they gave him.
Per Andy's request, there will be no services. Private interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
