Alice Mae (Dominic) Filing

Alice (Dominic) Filing, 85, passed away December 29, 2022 surrounded by her family.
Born in Akron on November 5, 1937 to the late Santina & Patrick Dominic, she lived in Akron, Mansfield, OH, Rochester, NY and wintered in Palm Harbor, FL. Alice loved baseball and spent summers following her brothers who played Minor League on the New York Yankee farm system, and had exceptional knowledge of the game and sports in general. She graduated at an RN from St. Thomas Nursing School and had a long career, working in surgery at St. Thomas, pediatrics at Mansfield General and retiring from Fallsview Psychiatric Hospital as a psychiatric nurse, where she lovingly cared for her patients. Alice always loved Christmas with the family and enjoyed her holiday poker games which she usually ended up winning. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and her great cooking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Eugene and Raymond Dominic. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Ray; children Mark (Stacie), Lisa (Tim) Stover, and John (Nicole); grandchildren Sam Filing, Allison Stover, Lindsey (Zack) Buzzelli-Andes, & Gabrielle, Danielle and Lydia Filing; and great grandchildren Dominic and Patrick; nieces Nicole Dominic and Leslie Studer; and beloved dog Casey.
