Algia 'Al' Brewer

Algia "Al" Brewer, 86, died on Saturday, December 27, 2014 following a lengthy battle with cancer.
A lifelong resident of Akron, Al was born January 17, 1928 in Pikeville Kentucky, the oldest son of Oscar & LouEmma (Sturgill) Brewer. Retiring from the General Tire & Rubber Co. in 1982, Al was an avid automobile enthusiast, with a passion that extended beyond work.
In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by siblings Audrey & Joe; and first wife Betty Lee Burkhammer. Al is survived by sister Loretta Coleman of Rio Del, CA; daughter Cheryl (Steve) Kormanec of Moshannon, PA; grandson Darren (Cassandra) Kormanec of Snow Shoe, PA; great-grandchildren Jordan, Haley, Kaitlyn, twins Trevor & Hannah, and a new set of twins to arrive later this summer.
In Akron, on April 7, 1984 all married his current wife, Elizabeth 'Liz' (McDougall) Brewer, who survives along with his step-daughter Eula Robertson (Roy Lee) of Geona, WV; step-granddaughter Allison; step-daughter Carol (Kenneth) Bean of Akron, Step-granddaughter Ashley Haag; step-great-grandchildren Ariel & Nathan Conley; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 30 from 12-2 PM at the Anthony Funeral Homes, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St in Akron, with a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Interment will be at Mt. Peace Cemetery in Hartville at the family's convenience.

Visitation

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 30 from 12-2 PM at the Anthony Funeral Homes, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St in Akron, with a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Interment will be at Mt. Peace Cemetery in Hartville at the family's convenience.
