Alan Jay Stennett 64, of Green Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Born in Springfield, Illinois in 1961, he lived a life marked by generosity, laughter, deep faith, and boundless curiosity.

A proud graduate of Stow High School, Class of 1979, he went on to study Mechanical Engineering at Kent State University, where his natural gift for understanding how things worked only deepened. He was a man who could fix nearly anything and if he didn't know how, he would happily spend hours fiddling with it until he did. His mind was endlessly curious, a trait he lovingly passed on to his children.

He was a provider in every sense of the word steady, capable, and selfless. He gave freely of his time, his knowledge, and his heart. He was one of the most uniquely gifted people many had ever known, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.

His faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was active in his church, loved the Lord deeply, and lived his beliefs through quiet service and generosity toward others.

He had a lifelong love of sailing and spent many treasured hours on his sailboat, embracing the wind and water. He was involved with North Coast Sailing Singles and enjoyed racing, including time spent around Summit Racing where he worked over 35 years. Whether scuba diving, tinkering in the garage, or talking about cars, he found joy in movement, mechanics, and adventure.

Above all, he loved to laugh. His humor was warm, easy, and infectious. He raised three children ,Seth, Leah, and Lindsey , to think deeply, ask questions, and approach the world with curiosity and courage.

He is survived by his beloved fiancée, Tammie, his parents Arthur and Gloria Stennett, his siblings Gary Stennett, Greg Stennett, and Gail Longnecker, and several nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward.

He was preceded in death by his cherished cat, Elvis, and is survived by his loyal cat companion, Rose.

His life was one of impact, not because he sought recognition, but because he lived fully, loved generously, and left every person he encountered a little better for having known him.
